CHANNEL 4 AND THE AUSTRALIAN TOUR

Written By bross on Friday, July 15, 2011 | 1:49 AM

Owing to the Chanel 4 video there is some speculation that the Australian tour of Sri Lanka is at stake

The next Australian cricket tour of Sri Lanka is due shortly. Owing to the misled Australian public about the fabricated channel 4 video. There is much speculation among the players to boycott the tour. However this matter is yet to be confirmed.
Recently over the Australian ABC Television channel during the ‘four corners’ programme, there had been a lot of discussion about the Channel 4 video and the cricketing fraternity in Australian had taken its contents as the absolute truth and had been forced to take a firm stand on it. This had forced most Australians fans due to tour Sri Lanka to think further, thus reducing those who had already intended to tour Sri Lanka to witness the matches. Cricket Australia is yet to issue a directive on this channel 4, video conflict.
In an earlier instance too, there had been false rumours about the security situation in Sri Lanka, which the authorities of Australian Cricket came to a conclusive decision. However the Head of Australian Cricket Paul Marsh, had conveyed his views to the ‘Cricinfo’.had added that during a previous occasion in a conflict in the Zimbabwe’s Government ,the Australian cricket had to cancel a tour that was scheduled to be held. However the Australian Cricket is still to take a decision in this regard.
It has to be said that Australian cricket is now at a receding dominance, unlike Sri Lanka and it is prudent to play Sri Lanka to enhance their current skills which is at low ebb.
The Channel 4 video, a fabricated version is shown, in many channels in a number of countries, to bring disrepute to Sri Lanka, by Tamil speaking ethnic LTTE groups are spreading rumours to defame Sri Lanka, perhaps after the blatant LTTE terrorists were crushed by our Forces..

MEDICAL DEGREES IN NEW PRIVATE MEDICAL COLLEGES ON PROTEST, BY GMOA

CLASHES PREDICTED BETWEEN NEW PRIVATE MEDICAL COLLEGES AND THE GMOA?
GMOA BANS PRACTICAL EXPEREINCE TO MEDICAL STUDENTS AT GOVERNMENT HOSPITALS:

It is suggested that the batch of medical students, in the new Malabe private medical hospital are to obtain ward experience from the Homagama Government hoppital.aif this is implemented the GMOA has warned that drastic action by way of a protest, would be taken by its members.
It is a well known fact that admission to any medical college is based on students who have obtained the highest marks at the GCE (Advanced Level) examination. However those who have obtained lesser marks had been given the opportunity to enter the private medical colleges. However those affluent who have money have been given preference to over those in the lesser income groups. This decision has been deeply protested by the GMOA, in the unfair manner of the selection process had been made.
The concept of commencing of new private medical colleges, had been in the foremost in the minds of previous government officials. The suggestion for some reason or other could not be implemented and unfortunately could not get off the ‘blocks’. However this government was able to commence a just a few private medical colleges. This is is a puzzle to many as to how this government was able to break the shackles and get off the ‘blocks ‘by breaking all obstacles.
The GMOA had added that no private medical college could be opened without having their sanction and approval. The sessions have already begun in the year 2010 under the sole approval of the Minister of Higher Education, S.B.Dissanayake. The GMOA is baffled as to how these private medical colleges were formed in the year 2010 under their sole approval and without obtaining their permission. At these private medical colleges, Diplomas in IT also could be studied with the payment of a fee.
The MBBS degree takes a period of 5 years to complete and those with just 3 'S' passes in the GCE (Advanced Level) could get enrolled on a payment of a fee.
