Park Shin Hye is known for not only her talent, but diligent work style, and she’s showing it again by personally learning how to play the gayageum, a traditional Korean string instrument, for her role in MBC’s upcoming drama, “You’ve Fallen For Me”.

Immediately after her casting, she began working with a kukak professor for private lessons. She showed such passion and dedication that her hands are now full of blisters and hardened skin.

Park commented, “I learned about the gayageum through ‘Kyu Won’, my character. Unlike its stocky outer appearance, it has such a clear, feminine sound, which immediately captivated me. Although I’m still lacking, I’m using every spare moment I can to practice and hopefully create more beautiful sounds.”

She continued, “‘Kyu Won’ isn’t actually a gayageum prodigy, but more like someone that’s been deeply influenced by her grandfather. She’s known about it all her life. By meeting ‘Lee Shin’ and ‘Kim Suk Hyun’, she goes through bumps along the way, but through that experience, eventually comes to find what her dream really is.”

This teenage melodrama is scheduled begin airing on June 29th!

Sungkyunkwan Scandal’s fashionista, Song Joong-ki, is returning to the sageuk fold for the anticipated historical series Tree With Deep Roots, which is the drama from the Queen Seon-deok writers about King Sejong the Great that stars Han Seok-kyu, Jang Hyuk, and Shin Se-kyung.

Song will play the young Sejong, whose older counterpart will be acted by Han Seok-kyu. The two actors look nothing alike, but no matter if they nail the acting; I’m recalling Will It Snow For Christmas, where Kim Soo-hyun and Go Soo likewise looked nowhere near the same person but managed to both get on the same page about the character’s mood and personality. Giant’s another recent drama that had a strong childhood portion, and frankly sometimes I find the youthful parts even more compelling than the grown-up ones. (When the two actors don’t match up, on the other hand, we get a jarring effect — I’m thinking Kim Bum and Song Seung-heon in East of Eden, where I just couldn’t see them as the same character.)

Too bad this also means that Song Joong-ki’s screentime will be limited. Despite that, he’s totally capable of making an impression, and producers explained casting Song for his focus and expressiveness. (He had small roles in Triple and Will It Snow, but certainly made his time count with his onscreen warmth and personality.) Plus he’s just so darn cute.

The youthful Sejong that he’ll portray is a genius growing up under the rule of a tyrannical father. He “realizes the futility of power early in life” and hides in his books, but nonetheless becomes king. In order to steer clear of turning into his father, he learns how to maintain a patient, enduring attitude and represses his own self. The fact that there’s something to repress makes me think he’ll display a more impassioned spirit at first, which he’ll work to control, and that’s a duality I’d love to see from Song, who’s mostly played warm, friendly, approachable characters. Bring on the intensity!

The drama will premiere on September 28.

Cha In-pyo will join MBC drama "Gyebaek".

"Gyebaek" is a MBC 50th Anniversary Special to be broadcasted after "Miss. Ripley".

The cast Lee Seo-jin as Gyebaek and Jo Jae-hyeon as King Euija are raising expectations.

The drama staff said on a phone call with OSEN, "Cha In-pyo will join "Gyebaek". It should be confirmed". He will be playing Baekje Jang Soo Moo-jin.

"Gyebaek" sheds new light on General Gyebaek who was active in the last years of the era of the Three States. Producer Kim Geun-hong is working along it.

mages have been unveiled for a new romantic comedy starring actors Song Joong-ki and Han Ye-seul, informed the film’s promoter Creative Communication SKY on Thursday.

According to a press release by SKY, Song and Han starrer “Saving up for Romance” (translated title), about the money-building adventure of two young people trying to make 200 million won, completed its three month-long shoot on May 16.

In “Saving up for Romance,” Song will play the pathetic college graduate Ji-woong who is always depending on his mom for extra cash while hardly earning a thing for himself while Han's chracter Hong-shil is the complete opposite of him, a ruthless penny pincher who denounces all activities that involve wasting money such as dating, going to the church or even a hospital. In the movie, she teaches the art of such penny-pinching.

“It was such fun to shoot the film. Han and I were able to click well with each other and I’m very happy that we completed our project without any accidents,” Song was quoted as saying by the statement.

“This is the film that can show you just how bad the image of a guy as cute as Song Joong-ki could become and what a colorful actor he is!” Han said, also expressing her satisfaction for the project.

The film, both helmed and written by director Kim Jung-hwan, is set to premiere in latter half of this year.

Song, 25, debuted in 2008 through TV series “Love Racing” and has since appeared in movie “Frozen Flower (2008)” and TV series “Precious Sons (2008),” “Triple (2009)” and “Will It Snow for Christmas (2009).” He has also hosted KBS’ Friday music program “Music Bank.”

He shot to stardom this year after starring in fusion history drama “SungKyunKwan Scandal” which went on air from late August to early November, where he appeared as a rich noble in 18th century Joseon (1392-1910) who always flirts with women.

Han, 29, made her first appearance as a super model in 2001 made her name known through MBC sitcom “Nonstop 4 (2003)” followed by TV series “Forbidden Love (2004)” “The Typhoon In That Summer (2005)” “Couple of Trouble (2006)” and “Will It Snow for Christmas? (2009)” and film “Miss Gold Digger (2007).”

Song Chang-ui and singer Lisa, co-stars of musical "Gwanghwamun Love Story," are dating.

An official with Song's agency BOM Actors said Thursday that the two started developing feelings for each other while preparing "Gwanghwamun" and became a couple after the show premiered.

They have been open about their relationship -- the entire cast and staff of the musical knew they were dating, the official added.

The two first became acquainted through musical "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" in 2009 and became close in March of this year while rehearsing for "Gwanghwamun."

Song, 32, debuted in 2002 through musical "Blue Saigon" but has appeared in several dramas and movies after shooting to stardom through TV series "Golden Bride" (SBS, 2007).

Most recently he finished filming a drama pic tentatively titled "Today" opposite actress Song Hye-kyo.

Lisa, a year older, debuted in 2003 and has appeared in several musicals including "Bandit" and "Jewel in the Palace."

"Gwanghwamun," featuring the hit songs of singer-song writer Lee Moon-se and the late-composer Lee Young-hoon, wrapped up its 20-day run in Seoul on April 10 and is now set to show in the cities of Busan, Daejeon and Ansan this month.
